Our Goal

Our goal with Solid Tackle is simple: through true innovation and by pushing the boundaries of today’s materials, we aim to create and design what we believe are the best fly fishing products possible—at any cost. It’s an ambitious goal, no doubt. So, why do we believe we can achieve it? Because we’ve dedicated our lives to fly fishing. With our combined experience, skill sets, access, and industry-specific knowledge, we are in a unique position to make it happen. We believe every angler who shares our passion deserves the chance to fish with tackle that matches their dedication in both quality and performance.

Beyond creating the most advanced, high-performing products from a technical standpoint, our core focus is to design gear that excels in real fly fishing situations. This means offering products that help you, as an angler, get the most out of every session on the water. It’s relatively easy to build a rod that can cast a line as far as possible with maximum effort. What’s much more challenging is crafting a rod that loads the line with less effort, while still delivering that exhilarating feeling when the line rips out of your hand and reaches the far bank.
But as we know, casting is only part of what makes a great fishing rod. We’ve put significant effort into designing rods that help you land more fish by reducing the risk of losing them when they’re close, whether due to violent headshakes, jumps, quick direction changes, or the fly popping out when you’re about to land them. The difference between a perfect fishing trip and a good one often comes down to whether you land that dream fish. Success or failure frequently hinges on the smallest details—whether your cast fell inches short, your leader snapped, or the hook came loose.
We’ve been there, seen it all, and learned from it. That’s why Solid Tackle was created: to design and produce gear that maximizes your chances of success every time you step into the water.

Products that match

Through our years of running fishing destinations around the world with Solid Adventures, we know how big of a difference it makes to have a rod, reel, and line combination that is easy to use and works for the fishing location and situation you are in. We can’t count the number of times we have had guests arriving with nice, expensive gear that unfortunately doesn’t suit the specific location or their casting and fishing abilities. Even more common, the line doesn’t work with the rod at all, resulting in poor performance and frustrating sessions on the water.
Our goal is to provide tackle setups designed to perform when it matters—perfectly tuned and easy to use, no matter your skill level. In short, we want to take the guesswork out of the equation. While we’re starting with rods, our first reel will launch in late 2024, with both single hand and spey lines available in 2025.
